Sky Tank EDC beads (Grail Drop #20)
Handmade in California by Tim Markel, the Sky Tank EDC beads are the 121st shop-drop by the Orange County maker and the 20th Copper Wagon Grail Drop. Each bead features four lab opal segments separated by three Grade 5 titanium spacers. Beneath the opal stack sit three Skur HyperGlow layers framed by two brass segments. The base of each bead is the legendary Westinghouse black glass.
The Westinghouse Special Black Glass is one of the rarest and most highly sought-after vintage materials in existence, often considered 'grail-level' by collectors. Produced for a brief period, likely in the 1980s, it was a non-catalogued recipe and despite its popularity among knife makers, it was eventually discontinued by Westinghouse. As the remaining supply has been increasingly acquired by collectors, it has become exceedingly rare, with some even considering it nearly extinct.
A total of 12 Sky Tank beads were made, but only 11 are available through the shop-drop.
