Centium EDC beads (Grail drop #15)

Handmade in California by Tim Markel, the Centium EDC beads mark the 100th shop-drop by the Orange County maker and 15th CW Grail Drop.

“To celebrate this milestone, I wanted to do something truly special, so I went deep into my vault and pulled a material I once believed would never leave my collection. Small, blue patina’d rectangular sheets I always imagined holding onto for decades, telling stories someday about what once was. In the end, reaching my hundredth drop reminded me why I collect and create in the first place, not to hoard and hide rare materials, but to share them with people who appreciate their history and beauty.”

That material is Westinghouse Blue Ivorite. Produced around 1981, this legendary, nearly obsolete,  cerulean paper Micarta is one of the most sought after and tightly held materials among collectors, and is featured at the top and bottom of each Centium bead. Six titanium segments of varying thickness separate five hyperglow segments and two layers of copper, where the copper acts as a visual anchor that softens the reflectivity of the mirror polished titanium against the uniform blue of the polished Ivorite. Unless circumstances change, the Centium beads will likely stand as the only Copper Wagon drop to ever feature the elusive Westinghouse Blue Ivorite.

Born from a passion for craftsmanship, every Copper Wagon EDC bead is carefully designed, assembled, turned, and polished in very small batches. Every Copper Wagon EDC bead is one-of-a-kind. Past drops/themes are not repeated.

Attach your Copper Wagon EDC beads to your favorite pieces of EDC gear as additional grip points while also elevating their presence in your loadout. Each meticulously crafted bead possesses a unique, evolving character and enduring charm, designed to withstand the test of time and the rigors of everyday life, ensuring it becomes a cherished heirloom for generations to come.

The Centium EDC beads were fine-tuned to work perfectly on your standard 6mm spin-sticks/bead-caddies, or as a knife lanyard bead, or zipper-pull.

A total of 9 Centium beads were made, but only 8 are available through the shop-drop.

Original owners of the Centium bead are entitled to one complimentary refinishing or polishing service per year for the first five years, for a total of up to five services - shipping charges will apply.
