Portal Anchor: Rocksteady
Handmade in California by Tim Markel, the Portal Anchor EDC beads are part of the 99th shop-drop by the Orange County maker. The Portal Anchor beads are cut from niobium copper superconductor, then deep acid etched and electroanodized. This release marks the second publicly available Copper Wagon superconductor drop.
Born from a passion for craftsmanship, every Copper Wagon EDC bead is carefully designed, assembled, turned, and polished in very small batches. Every Copper Wagon EDC bead is one-of-a-kind. Past drops/themes are not repeated.
Attach your Copper Wagon EDC beads to your favorite pieces of EDC gear as additional grip points while also elevating their presence in your loadout. Each meticulously crafted bead possesses a unique, evolving character and enduring charm, designed to withstand the test of time and the rigors of everyday life, ensuring it becomes a cherished heirloom for generations to come.
The Portal Anchor EDC beads were fine-tuned to work perfectly on your standard 6mm spin-sticks/bead-caddies, or as a knife lanyard bead, or zipper-pull.
A total of 5 Portal Anchor beads were made, but only 3 will be available through the staggered 99th shop-drop. Each bead is individually unique in color, shape, and depth of etch.
Only 1 Rocksteady variant was made. The Rocksteady variant has a light blue/gunmetal to a brass-yellow anodized oxide finish on the niobium surface. With prolonged wear and regular handling, the anodized layer may slowly abrade, revealing the underlying natural niobium coloration and adding character through use. Please note: The copper will patina fairly quickly regardless, with exposure to oxygen.
