Magnitide EDC beads (Grail Drop #11)

Handmade in California by Tim Markel, the Magnitide beads are the 85th one-time shop-drop by the Orange County maker, and the 11th Copper Wagon Grail Drop. The Magnitide beads feature a rare vintage G11 manufactured by International Paper between 1995-2002. While its hue resembles the well-known modern natural/jade G10, this particular G11 has a distinct turquoise-jade tone unique to its formulation.

G11 is a glass-epoxy laminate in the same family as G10, made from woven fiberglass cloth impregnated with a high-temperature epoxy resin and cured under heat and pressure. G11 is extremely durable and it’s impact resistance can rival metals like brass or bronze, while remaining lighter, electrically insulating, and virtually immune to corrosion. G11 typically has a denser weave structure than G10, producing a tighter, less porous surface that can achieve a higher, more refined polish.

This vintage G11 recipe was also produced by Westinghouse prior to the sale of their laminates division to International Paper in 1995, and it’s nearly indistinguishable from the earlier (and also incredibly rare) stock unless examined in its raw form.

The Magnitide beads were fine-tuned to work perfectly on your standard 6mm spin-sticks/bead-caddies, or as a lanyard bead, or zipper-pull. 

A total of 17 Magnitide beads were made, but only 14 are available through the shop-drop. A one-off bead with a slightly varied shape was made but is not available through this drop. Every CW bead comes to you with a signed certificate of authenticity, themed paracord, and limited-edition swag.
